6월이다. 정신 없거나 멍 때리거나 하면서 살다보니 달이 바뀌는 걸 잘 눈치채지 못하는 것 같다. 그냥 한 달의 며칠이 지난 후에야 '어, 00월이네?;'라고 느끼는 정도다. 그런데 6월은 좀 다른 느낌이다. 여기저기서 빠알간 장미가 피어 있다. 마음이 조금 꿈틀거린다.
생각해보면 6월엔 뭔가 특별한 게 있는 것 같기도 하다. 댈로웨이 부인은 6월의 어느 '완벽한' 하루를 살아간다. 작년 6월에는 서울 도심에서 촛불이 일렁거렸고, 1987년에는 6월 민주항쟁이 있었다. 중국은 올해로 1989년 6월에 일어난 천안문 사태 20주년을 맞았다. There's something about June과 같은 느낌이랄까ㅋ
한 학기의 끝, 그리고 방학의 시작. 이번 여름에는 어떤 일들이 기다리고 있을까. 그리고 나는 어떤 선택을 하고 행동을 하게 될까. 조금은 힘이 빠지는 시기지만, 6월의 어느 완벽한 하루를 꿈꾸며 숨을 골라본다.
